Paco

This week has been filled with many different things - First, we had the Big Show at church. Mike and I are leaders along with 4 other couples for the 10th, 11th, and 12th graders and each year they put on a big fund-raiser which is called the big show and each year is a different theme. This year was Red-neck comedy and Blue Collar Tour - we had a great time and many different acts were performed and many laughs. We set up on Monday, practiced Tues., and performed the big show on Wed. night. In between there somewhere our computer downstairs crashed - I brought it in to a shop in town here to fix. We were without it all week - the Hard Drive went out and had to be replaced and then all our information transferred from the old to new drive.(I ususally blog down there since all our pictures are on that one) Well, since we got it back on Thursday Marcus and Jamie are trying to get there things back to normal on there and I haven't had a chance to update our blog or get the pictures from the Big show on the computer(hopefully will soon that I can share some of them)
Also on Thursday, Paco did not eat or drink all day long - I took him for a walk but he wasn't into it at all and that night he laid down at 6pm and on Friday morning at 9am he still hadn't moved - I was upset and called the vet and they wanted to see him. They did x-rays and didn't find anything logged inside - he had 103.6 temp which is alarming and found out that he has pancreitis. They gave him 2 shots and special food for the day and two medicines to take for the next week and sent us home. I am glad to report that he is doing much better and is getting his energy back - YEAH!!!!
This week will hopefully be a little calmer. Jamie has started AAU Volleyball - she has practice on Monday and her first tournament is this week Saturday already. Marcus is doing great - he is still lifting 4 days a week and is quite social with all his friends - We have been following Western closely in basketball and tournament time will soon be starting in February.
Just thought I would give you a little update.
Mike and I are great and looking forward to the super bowl next Sunday.

It has just snowed another 4 inches and Mike has the snow blower out for the third time this week - just thought I'd give an update.

Friday the kids finish their first semester and get out early then too - pretty soon I'll have to start teaching them if this keeps up :) (then we will all be in trouble)

NW Iowa Blizzard today!!

This is what it looks like out my window right now - The wind is blowing 30-40 mph and with an inch or two of fresh snow from last night it is blowing around like crazy. On Friday afternoon I was coming home from Marcie's house and hit a patch of ice and did a 180 on the road and ended up on the other side of the road - thankfully noone was coming. Today Marcus and Jamie both got out of school at 12:30 because of the weather. At 12:45 Marcus called me that he was in the ditch. He hit some ice and started fishtailing and took the ditch - everything is OK and he is not hurt and neither is the car. There was a bad accident a mile behind him on the Doon corner and many others were going into the ditch as well. Mike pulled him out with his pickup and followed him home and come in to tell him and I that we needed to stay home now and that he needed to go back to work. So we are home and it is quite nasty outside - so thankful he is not hurt and wasn't involved in the accident. Mike said that he was glad I told him Marcus was OK when I called because he followed all the emergency vehicles out of town when he was on his way to get him. Many things to be thankful for and we hope that noone else was seriously injured either. I do believe we are in for a long winter.

Friday at the lake

On Friday we took Sarah fishing for awhile at the dock - Mike got out the mule and made some trips from the cabin to the dock - was a fun adventure and everyone enjoyed the 65 degree weather for an hour.
Mike was a great driver on quite a steep decline - everyone hung on tightly!!

Dad enjoyed watching us fish and getting some fresh air - he kept asking if we had enough for supper - not as good as luck as we would have liked.

Sarah had a great time and is a very patient fisherwoman - she was adorable and fun to watch - she kept trying different places and just enjoyed having her bobber in the water - we'll get em next time I'm sure!!
