Exciting Saturday!!!

Jamie had her first AAU Volleyball tournament and got first place in it - since they won they qualified for the state tournament on March 29 in Marshalltown, IA. They were extremely excited about that and they played very well. She will have a tournament almost every Saturday until then so they will get lots of practice in before then.

Mike shot his first fox this day also - he has trapped some before but this is the first one he shot. He went out early looking for coyote and seen one but it was 3/4 mile away and he spotted this fox in a bean field about 200 yards away sitting in the sun - he took a shot at it and it ran 100 feet and did a flip and dropped. It is a very nice red color and its features are quite neat - the dark feet and ears really stand out on this one - I felt a little funny taking his picture at first because I told him that it looked alot like him holding Paco (our dog). The fox is now hanging in front of our house and Paco has fun barking at it and sniffing ar0und it also.

FREEZING

I have been walking in the mornings at 5:30am for many, many years and today I realized that I have never been so cold in all my life. It was 20 BELOW zero this morning at 5:30 and I braved the elements - it made me think of that e-mail mom sent about that guy filling his car with gas and it was so cold his hinder fell off. Yep, that could have been me this morning - my hind end and legs were stiff cold and wow - that's all I got to say about that - I always knew that I was crazy but this morning I started to believe it even more :). But I survived and Paco had a great time getting his walk in. By Saturday it is suppose to be in the 30's - heat wave is coming - hope you all stay warm today and I will be walking again tomorrow - I hear you burn more calories if it is cold - cuz your body is trying to warm up and getting exercise at the same time - I quess that means I can go have another bar or two. (Don't you love my thinking)

SNOW DAY!!

Today was the first snow day - school was cancelled and the kids were excited. Marcie and I painted today and this is a pic of Marcie's son Morgan and Jamie making a great snow fort and of course Paco was trying to be a part of the party. It has snowed pretty much all day long - very soft and fluffy snow. It if quite pretty - it's OK yet but come March and April I will be ready for spring. Have a great snow day wherever you are - we sure are.
Marcus and his buddies are busy sledding down grandpa Pollema's big hill in his pasture.

Tax time - WOW

I have been very busy trying to get 1099 and w-2 forms ready for everyone and I am kinda sick of it. It went well but everything else gets put on hold when you are in the office all the time. As of 3 pm yesterday I put the typewriter away - YEAH - hopefully for the year until next tax season comes around. I love making sure all the numbers match and everything comes out right but after so many it is time to be finished also.
Enough about that - hope you all have a great day and stay warm - it's going to be really cold here for the next week straight - like zero or below - that is in farenhient Evonne :) - we always had the same with Nik and Kim - everything was in Celsius - we still check in the vehicle all the time what the degrees is differently since they did that all the time.
