Babies are coming in April!!

The one on the left is my sister Becky due on April 1 - we gave the shower to Amanda (my niece) on the right who is due on April 5th. - We had a very nice time and Amanda recieved some very nice items to start her family with.

The couch was overflowing with girls - we had a very nice time and good food and great time talking about babies and how fast they grow up.
Jamie did great in her Laurens tournament last Saturday - they took first and today she had one in MOC (Orange City) - she started playing at 10am this morning and we got finished at 5pm this evening - they took first again but it was a BIG challenge today - they played very well and came through but it was a tough road - fun, long day of volleyball.
Monday night Western plays the sub-state basketball tournament game at the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City, IA against Unity at 8pm - we are leaving at 4:30 already because Rock Valley plays sub-state right before us at 6:15 - so we are going to watch both games - should be a good night of basketball - all of Sioux County will be in Sioux City :)

Jamie is well again!

Jamie is feeling well again. She went to school for the first time this week yesterday - and now today they get out at noon (RVCS has their annual auction tonight). So she has had a slack week with school which worked out well for being sick :(

Jamie has an AAU Volleyball tournament in Laurens, IA tomorrow (Which is about 2 hours away) So we will be leaving at 6am tomorrow - Mike and Marcus are staying home from this one. She also has to work at the auction tonight in the concession stand and Mike and I have to clerk for an hour. Marcus has plans with his friends as well tonight. So I am glad everyone is well again and I will be cleaning house today - we are having a baby shower for my niece Amanda here on Monday evening so we are excited for that as well - hope you all have a great weekend!

Jamie isn't feeling well!

Jamie had a fun day off yesterday - had volleyball practice in the morning - helped around the house in the afternoon - went to the basketball game at Western with her brother at night. THEN - she had a slight headache when she went to bed and at 1am this morning she came up and she was burning up - quite a fever and sore throat and miserable. I took her to the doctor this morning since she wasn't any better and had 102 temp - they tested her for strep throat and yes it came back positive!!! She has been down and out ever since - I got her some medicine and movies from the library and she has pretty much taken over the living room for the day - I did go to school and get her homework and Marcus is helping her with that as I type this. Doc said to keep her home till noon for sure tomorrow so we will see what tomorrow brings!!!

The last Western basketball game is tonight before tournaments starts next week - they are having an open house in the new weight room and Marcus is going to be demonstrating how to use the equipment from 6:30 till 7 - Jamie is invited to play in pep band with Alex tonight so she is excited bout that.

Just a quick update on us - I painted stripes in an office today - they always look really nice when complete but take alot of patience and time but was fun for a change once again - Mike was in Kansas City for work on Tues and Wed. this past week. Paco is doing great again after his little spell of sickness and is whining at me so I better go for a walk with him. :) He is trying to keep me in shape.

BIG SHOW

Here is how we had the tables decorated - Can't see much of it but our theme was Redneck and Blue Collar comedy - we had a great time and good southern food - Pulled pork on a bun, potato salad and baked beans and pecan pie for dessert. On the tables when people arrived we had peanuts in the shell and Texas cavier with chips.
This is Steve and Bonnie's daughter - she is second from the left - these girls did a country line dance during the show and did an awesome job!!

Marcus was in a skit that they lipsang a song - "Play me some Mountain Music - he had a violin and was pretending to play it - my mother was very proud of this skit there were 6 boys in it and they all wore my dad's western shirts - pretty cool

Mike and I did a skit as well and as you can see we dressed up like old people and told a joke it was quite comical and Mike got me through it - it was a little out of my comfort zone to be in front of that many people talking but it went very well and yes I did survive!!!
We raised over $4000 that evening for the young peoples at church and had a fun evening!!
